In the beginning of Movements Afoot, I had a wonderful Alexander teacher give a class, Release into Strength. When the spine is stuck, we use other efforts around fixed places in our bodies. In January 30 Embodied Anatomy Pilates mat, we are going to explore freeing the spine to improve function. Many clients are stuck in flexion of upper spine and/or lower spine. Their compensation patterns usually goes to their preferred bad habit. We are going to explore releasing the spine and understanding new patterns of support of the spine.
